TLC will bow its Chandra Levy docu-movie May 1, the tenth anniversary of Levy’s death.

Who Killed Chandra Levy? is based on events surrounding the murder of the 24-year-old Capitol Hill intern. The project weaves dramatizations with original on-camera interviews with those close to Levy and the crime including Scott Higham and Sari Horwitz, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporters who covered the case, as well as Levy’s aunt Linda Katz.

With actors playing Levy, Representative Gary Condit and other principles, the project is a departure of sorts for TLC, which has filled its schedule with reality fare including the just premiered most recent season of Kate Plus 8.

Who Killed Chandra Levy? will dramatize Levy’s life in Washington including her affair with Condit and the media’s subsequent and unrelenting focus on the California congressman.

Using Horwitz and Highman’s book Finding Chandra as its source material, the TLC movie will also recount investigators’ struggle to unravel the case and the long overdue arrest and conviction of Ingmar Guandique, a Salvadorian immigrant who had attacked other women in Rock Creek Park, where Levy’s body was found.
