HOLLYWOOD'S ACTORS UNIONS MOVING TOWARD MARRIAGE

The Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists are moving toward forming one big performers' union. The move comes just two years after a bitter feud between Hollywood's two major actors' unions led them to negotiate separate contracts with movie studios and television networks. In a letter to members, SAG and AFTRA leaders say they met in New York a week ago and unanimously approved merger recommendations. There will be informational meetings for members nationwide including Los Angeles to discuss the merger.
